Undaunted by the cold weather and light snow that began as we walked on February 7, 2015, sixteen hardy walkers met at the West Point Field parking lot and walked along the Stony Creek Trolley Trail, part of the Shoreline Greenway Trail. Chet Blomquist led the walk, telling stories as he went about the history of the area.
As the accompanying photos indicate, the scenery had that special beauty of marshes in winter. Chet pointed out the Tilcon section of the SGT trail and talked about plans for connecting Stony Creek and Branford Center, including the train station, via a trail that will be as much as possible off road.
