Madison’s Newest Eagle Scout

May 22, 2017

FullSizeRenderCaleb Isaacson, shown here in full Eagle Scout regalia, was the honoree at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held May 20 at the American Legion Hall in Madison. Caleb’s project was the beautiful trail kiosk and landscaping at the Webster Point Road end of the Hammonasset trail section. Caleb’s mentor for the project, Madison Trailmeister Perry Rianhard, commented, “Caleb’s carpentry skills are amazing for one so young. I learned a lot from him, and he was a delight to work with.”

Caleb is the fourth Eagle Scout and third member of Madison Troop 491 to work toward the Eagle Scout designation with a project for the trail. Eagle Scouts have completed trail projects in East Haven and Branford as well, and younger scouts have helped a great deal with trail clearing, building, and clean-up. Their creativity and hard work enhances the trail immeasurably.
