Annual Letter from the Chair

Dear Friend,

On behalf of all of the volunteers who have been working to build the Shoreline Greenway Trail, I am proud to report that 2007 was a very productive and rewarding year.

Nothing was more encouraging than our growing membership. In 2007, we welcomed more than 700 new contributing families. Almost two thousand families have now made a commitment to a trail that will be enjoyed by young and old, walkers and cyclists, exercisers and commuters. We welcome our new members. We thank all of you. The Shoreline Greenway Trail will be built because of your continued support.

We also benefited from the extraordinary leadership of our local officials and state legislators. They have been encouraging from the beginning. In 2007, they helped the Trail secure major state funding. This funding will allow us to access all of our federal funds and to begin our engineering study.

Finally, we were thrilled to see so many people begin to use and enjoy the Shoreline Greenway Trail in 2007. Our Annual Meeting featured a hike on the Birch Road Section of Trail in Branford. We invite all of you to explore the developing sections of the Trail.

2007 was an encouraging year. We are more confident than ever that, with your continued support, we will build a trail that will be enjoyed today and for years to come.

Thank you,
Chip Angle
