January 2, 10 am, BRANFORD – Alps Road to Trolley Track

Hikers of all ages are welcome to join us for an envigorating and chilly 1 1/2-mile round trip walk on the proposed SGT trail from Alps Road to the Trolley Track through wintry laurel groves, ending at a beautiful view of the Farm River estuary, and return via the same route. Dress warmly, and in case of snow, wear boots. This is an unimproved trail in the early stages of development, and is unsuitable for strollers. Leashed dogs are welcome.
DIRECTIONS: From Route 1 in Branford, take Alps Road (between Wendy’s and TD Bank) for about one mile. Look for SGT signs directing you to park on Katy-Joe Lane across from the entrance to Hearth at Gardenside. Trip leaDers will be at Katy-Joe Lane to greet you.
