First Section Is Open

Shoreline Greenway Trail’s first trail section was at Birch Road in Branford. A trail opening was celebrated on September 12, 2005. Trail members and local dignitaries gathered in Branford. Read all about it in The Day and in the Branford Review.

Bikes Belong, a national organization that encourages bike-friendly communities, helped to fund the project with a $10,000 grant. Additional funds for the improvement came from the New England Grassroots Environment Fund ($1,000) and New Alliance Bank ($2,000).
