On June 4, National Trails Day, join us for a four-mile walk, c. 2 1/2 hours, in Branford. Expert leaders Chet Blomquist and Geoff Smith will guide a hardy family-oriented walk to showcase Shoreline Greenway Trail’s Branford route. (note: not stroller-friendly, uneven terrain in some areas)

Chet on the Trail
Meet at 10AM at Stony Creek’s West Point ballfield near entrance to the Trolley Trail for a lovely walk across marshes, through woods and Young’s Pond Park to the Town’s Tabor property where SGT Green Team volunteers have blazed a temporary path, onto Montowese Street by the Branford River. Arrive at the Branford Green by 12:30PM. Join the celebration at 1:00pm on Branford Green in honor of Chet Blomquist. First Selectman Unk DaRos will proclaim “Chet Blomquist Day”, in recognition of his many visionary contributions to the Town over the past 50 years. Light refreshments served, bring picnics, enjoy the day!
Shorter walk options: 10AM Hike the first half of the 4-mile walk from Stony Creek to the Pine Orchard Road/Tabor property intersection where pick up the free bus shuttle to return to the Branford Town Green. OR
11:30AM Hike the second half, starting at the Pine Orchard Rd/ Tabor property intersection (dog kennel sign near bridge) Free bus shuttle to the intersection leaves Branford Town Green at 11:15AM
Free Bus shuttle : Meet at 9:30AM at Branford Town Green for ride to Trolley Trail entrance. OR Meet at 11:15AM at Branford Town Green for ride to Pine Orchard Road. Bus will also pick up there to return to the Green.
