1st Saturday Walk August 4 to Farm River State Park, East Haven

Photographers and Nature lovers!  At 10 a.m., hike with SGT leaders Barbara Brow and Mike Gambardella thru picturesque woods to an overview of the Bradford Preserve tidal welands,

then walk along our newly completed granite-topped 1200 ft. trail section to the new Trailhead and parking area.  We’ll cross into Farm River State Park, peaceful and pristine. Many points of interest – osprey nests, caves and vistas.  An easy pleasant walk, one short steep area. Approximately 1.5 miles, about  1 1/2 hours. Meet at 10am at DC Moore School’s back parking lot.  Directions:  Coming from Branford, take Route 142 across Farm River into  East Haven,  take a left onto Mansfield Grove Road to stop sign;  right on Hoop Pole Lane to second School parking lot on left.  Coming from Coe Avenue in East Haven,  take a left to Myrtle Street, right at stop sign then a quick left onto Elliot Street, and right into first School parking lot.  Meet at 10 am.
