On the Guilford Town Green, enthusiastic bicylists gather for a Shoreline Greenway Trail 1st Saturday bike ride

Thirty-five enthusiastic bikers braved this summer’s heat early Saturday morning, July 6, to bike 20+ miles from the Guilford Green up to Lake Quonnipaug and back!  Shoreline Greenway Trail leaders Terry and Martha Maguire and Ted Braun guided them on a scenic on-road route with minimum traffic, and even gave a couple hill options around the lake for the hardcore bikers.

This Fall we hope to build our first section of Shoreline Greenway Trail in Guilford, completely off-road for safe leisurely biking and walking to town, from Madison’s East River border to the Water Tower, alongside Route 1.   Check our website for progress reports.
