Branford’s Tabor Trail Construction Begins!

February 14, 2018

On October 16,  Butler Construction of Portland, CT officially began work on Branford’s Tabor Trail. This trail link between Tabor Drive and Pine Orchard Road is a project of the Town of Branford, using federal funds awarded to build the Shoreline Greenway Trail that are administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Shoreline Greenway Trail is excited to have this sign of progress, a trail that will go along beautiful Chet’s Pond and will be handicapped accessible. It is a great step in the goal to provide a bicycle/pedestrian link between the Branford Town Center with the village of Stony Creek. We expect the project to be completed by early spring.  Look for our announcement of the opening ceremony!

Another sign of progress toward this goal is the recent Branford Transit Oriented Development report, which includes recommendation for a multi-use path linking the James Blackstone Library with Meadow Street and a possible Shoreline Greenway Trail path and boardwalk along the Branford River. This path will also link to the Stony Creek Brewery, which has generously allowed a Shoreline Greenway Trail trailhead to be built on their property.

Great things are happening in Branford!  Shoreline Greenway Trail thanks the Town of Branford and all of our contributors and volunteers in Branford for their support.
