This past Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, a group of 33 eager walkers convened at the Route 1 parking lot of Hammonasset State Park for the next in SGT’s series of First Saturday walks. It was a crisp and sunny morning, and the group was raring to get going. Finally cool enough to wear sweatshirts, we heard birdsongs and crunching leaves underfoot as we wove our way along the trail. When we reached the end of the Madison trail, heading west, we again pondered: while we have gratitude for the hard work that’s brought us the stretch of trails that have been achieved, there’s much further to go! And we need everyone’s support to get there!
