August 24 was a pleasant day for East Haven to host Shoreline Greenway Trail’s popular trolleys and trails series. Wayne Sanford our distinguished guest speaker, Shore Line Trolley Museum volunteer and historian led a walk and talk.
Wayne explained the origin, history and life changing importance of trolleys as attendees walked a section of Shoreline Greenway Trail adjacent to the former popular trolley route from New Haven to East Haven that transported people to the shoreline to enjoy Long Island Sound, restaurants and an amusement park.
We were led along the newest section of Shoreline Greenway Trail along Coe Ave to the East Haven Beach for beautiful views before returning to the former DC Moore school.
