On Saturday August 31st 2024, Shoreline Greenway Trail along with The Shoreline Trolley Musuem hosted a walk along the historic Trolley Trail in Stony Creek Branford CT.
The Branford Trolley Trail and Footbridge is a beautiful park located in Stony Creek and shares this with the Shoreline Greenway Trail.
This scenic trail follows the path of an old trolley line, offering a unique and historic experience. The highlight of the park is the historic footbridge that crosses a picturesque river, providing stunning views of the surrounding natural landscape.
Tom Laurenson, a certified Trolley Car operator and historian for the Shoreline Trolley Musuem, led the walk with a group of about 30 walkers. Along the way, Tom stopped several times to discuss the history of this trolley line dating back to the early 1900’s . It was a beautiful August day and everyone on the walk learned about the rise and fall of trolley car transportation in Branford and the surrounding towns.
