May is a wonderful time to enjoy the trail in Hammonasset with daffodils and mountain laurel blooming and migrating birds riding the air currents. We will walk the trail past beautiful salt marshes and through one of the few remaining coastal forests on the Connecticut coast. 2.5 miles roundtrip. Modest hills. Wear comfortable shoes. The REI water station will be open for the season so bring your water bottle and fill it up. There is a water dish for dogs too. Dogs on leashes welcome. Meet at the trail parking lot: I 95 exit 62, south to the traffic light, left onto Route One, the first right into the parking lot.
