DESCRIPTION:SHORELINE GREENWAY TRAIL HIKE IN GUILFORD’S EAST RIVER PRESERVE \nShoreline Greenway Trail is hosting a hike Saturday\, April 2nd\, 10 AM\, in Guilford’s East River Preserve. Meet in the large parking area off Sullivan Drive before the stump dump entrance. As part of our MASTERS Series\, Janet Ainsworth\, Chair of the Guilford Conservation Commission will lead the walk. Janet is also a board member of the Guilford Land Conservation Trust and is a lead hiker trainer for the Appalachian Mountain Club. \nThe Conservation Commission oversees the East River Preserve as well as other Guilford properties. Janet will give a short talk in the parking area before leading the 1-1/2 – 2 hour\, 3 mile hike. Hike includes some hilly\, rocky and wet stretches. A great time to enjoy the outdoors and the intrinsic beauty of the trail off Elliot Street and in the spectacular Farm River State Park. \nWhen: Saturday\, December 5\, 2020\, 10:00 am. \nWhere: Meet at the Elliot Street parking lot. Directions: \n\nFrom RT. 142 West\, left onto Mansfield Grove Road to stop sign\, right onto Hoop Pole Lane to second parking lot on left.\nFrom Coe Avenue\, left onto Myrtle\, right at stop sign\, left onto Elliot Street\, right to parking lot.\n\nSpecial Instructions: Questions\, call Barbara Brow at 203-469-9127. \n\nNOTE: Participants must wear masks\, and maintain the \n6′ social distance from anyone you don’t live with.

SUMMARY:"Over-Sixty" Senior Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:Hi and BRAVO to all us “old” bikers sixty and above (!)\, who are staying fit and active…especially important now with everyone’s health being a prime concern during the pandemic! The biking season is almost over… we hope you can join us for a pleasant\, leisurely late fall Bike Ride next Saturday\, November 7\, a nice 5-mile loop from the Guilford Green and back\, exploring back roads westward. \nOur first Shoreline Greenway Trail Senior Bike Ride was last fall…we hope those of you who rode will join us again. If this short ride is a piece of cake for you\, we can suggest further routes you can ride afterwards to challenge yourself! We hope you will ride with us…..and spread the word! \nJoin us for our second Senior Bike Ride! ….a leisurely round-trip 5-mile bike ride from the Green to West Woods and return to picnic on the Green – bring your own or buy from the many choices around the Green. The route will take us quickly to the sidewalk along Route 1 to Three Mile Course\, up one steep hill to Sam Hill Road\, then gentle & rolling to intersection with Route 146 and West Woods entrance\, then back to the Green. \nLeaders: Brad Kronstat and Bruce Simonds \nQuestions\, call Pam at 203-453-2271. \nMeet at 11am on the Guilford Green across from the Marketplace near corner of Whitfield and Boston Street. Helmet required\, and waiver provided to sign. Bring a chair if you plan to join us on the Green for lunch. Ride will be cancelled if it rains or frigid weather. \nSpecial Instructions: Due to Covid\, masks will be required except when biking\, and 6-foot distancing when stopped.
