DESCRIPTION:EASTHAVEN~Saturday\,JUNE6\,10AM ~ANNUAL CT TRAILS DAY at the Shore Line Trolley Museum ~ Are you interested in history? Trolleys? A pleasant walk to a river? Osprey sightings? If so\, come celebrate the 14th year of the partnership between Shoreline Greenway Trail and the Shore Line Trolley Museum on Connecticut Trails Day. Meet at 10:00AM at the Shore Line Trolley Museum\, 17 River Street in East Haven. A Museum volunteer will take us on a trolley ride along the Museum’s scenic track through the Farm River estuary. Disembark to walk to the old dike at the Farm River\, visit the remains of an old crushing plant\, and learn its history; or stay on the trolley to return to the museum. Tour the museum with nearly 100 vintage transit vehicles\, including the PATH train car that survived the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. Time – c. 2 hours. Walk c.1 mile with some rough terrain. We’ll start at 2:00 PM on Sunday\, June 14\, (Chet’s birthday)  with a walk up to Ecology Park waving flags for Flag Day.  At 3:00 we’ll gather at  Chet’s Pond for birthday cake and lemonade. DESCRIPTION:GUILFORD ~ Saturday\, SEPTEMBER 5\, 10AM ~ Join us for a scenic hike in the East River Preserve (ERP). Meet at the ERP entrance on Sullivan Drive\, in the big parking lot. We will walk into the wooded Eastwoods property. Some trails have rocks\, roots\, and acorns. This is a family-friendly nature hike\, c. 2 hours. The Town-owned ERP is managed by the Guilford Conservation Commission. The ERP includes a section of the New England Trail which is 215 miles long.
