Are you interested in history? Trolley trains? A pleasant walk to a river? Osprey sightings?
If so, and in celebration of National Trails Day, come celebrate the 12th year of partnership between the Shoreline Greenway Trail East Haven & Branford teams and the Shoreline Trolley Museum as we team up to provide a great event!
Following our 1st Saturday theme, we will gather at 10:00 at the Shore Line Trolley Museum, 17 River Street in East Haven, which houses nearly 100 vintage transit vehicles.
A Museum volunteer will take us for a ride along the museum’s scenic track through the Farm River estuary.
Participants will disembark at a platform to walk to the old dike at the Farm River, visit the remains of an old crushing plant, and talk about its history.
After the walk, a museum volunteer will take us on a tour of the old trolleys, including the PATH train car that survived 9/11 at the World Trade Center.
