On June 5th the Shoreline Greenway Trail, Madison team, hosted the Guilford Girl Scouts for a walk on the Hammonasset section of the Madison trail.
The walk was led by a new volunteer and science teacher, Hollyann, who stepped up to use our newly created ‘self-guided walking tour’ to help share the delights of this trail section.
It was not only a spectacular day but the Girls were very inquisitive.
They really enjoyed the large leaves at the bottom of several trees. They all took a picture with their hand on a particularly large hickory leaflet. They also thought the pine needles on the pitch pine were cool.
What a great way to spend a day. Special thanks to Becca and her troop and Hollyann for leading the walk.
