TO BE RESCHECULED! MASTERs SERIES event, Hammonasset section in Madison – BIRDING! Apr 29th

April 29, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Shoreline Greenway Trail will need to Reschedule tomorrows (April 29th) Birding Master’s Walk at the Hammonasset section of the trail in Madison.
The rain looks imposing and our Bird Master, Brian Toal has it on good authority that the birds have chosen to not be displaying their optimal plumage.
LOOK for a new date to be set and check out the website for several other Masters Walks coming up along sections of the trail!

As part of the Shoreline Greenways Trail’s 21st year, the Shoreline Greenway Trail will hold a Master Series walk at the Hammonasset section in Madison, with special Master, Brian Toal, past president Hartford Audubon Society, for a special BIRDING walk.

As we walk, you will learn about all things Birds including ‘voice’ identification and calls, identification, native and non-native species found along the trail, and interesting facts about bird behavior as well as taking in the beauty of the trail.

We will be walking at an easy pace, on gently rolling, crushed gravel-paved terrain. 2.5 miles, (approx. 90 minutes) round trip. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water if you wish. Unfortunately, the REI sponsored water station is still closed for the winter months.

Binoculars would be a plus!

This walk is free and open to the general public in any area!

Directions: Meet at the Shoreline Greenway Trailhead parking lot, Saturday, April 29th, 10:00 AM:

I-95 exit 62, south to the traffic light, left onto Route One, the first right into the parking lot.
