As part of the Shoreline Greenways Trail’s 21st year, the Shoreline Greenway Trail will hold a Master Series walk at the Hammonasset section in Madison, with special Master, Brian Toal, past president Hartford Audubon Society, for a special BIRDING walk.
As we walk, you will learn about all things Birds including ‘voice’ identification and calls, identification, native and non-native species found along the trail, and interesting facts about bird behavior as well as taking in the beauty of the trail.
We will be walking at an easy pace, on gently rolling, crushed gravel-paved terrain. 2.5 miles, (approx. 90 minutes) round trip. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water if you wish. Unfortunately, the REI sponsored water station is still closed for the winter months.
Binoculars would be a plus!
This walk is free and open to the general public in any area!
Directions: Meet at the Shoreline Greenway Trailhead parking lot, Saturday, April 29th, 10:00 AM:
I-95 exit 62, south to the traffic light, left onto Route One, the first right into the parking lot.
