This past Sunday, local highschool students helped clean up the East Haven section of the Shoreline Greenway Trail, beginning by the former site of the D.C. Moore School and working their way through Farm River State Park. They cleared off invasive species and thorns on the side of the trail with the help of expert Mike Gambardella and our Vice Chair Matt Lieber. Students joined from East Haven High School, Wilbur Cross High School, Guilford High School, and the Eli Whitney School, as well as Boy Scouts!

This effort was coordinated by East Haven Chair Barbara Brow and Student Engagement Program Coordinator Luca Scafidi. This effort is a piece of our program to gather local students and provide service hours as they experience our trail together. We cannot wait to see more students on the trail in the upcoming months and continue doing more Trail Maintenance Sessions!
